Transmission 002: Closed Alpha Readiness and the Final Gates

Published on August 7, 2026 at 2:38 PM

Macrocosm is entering the final preparation stage for a small, invitation-only closed alpha. The game is not open to the public yet, and we will not call it ready until the remaining human test journeys are complete.

What is ready

The current live world has a verified recovery checkpoint, clean startup evidence, protected player and manager data, stable recurring services, and a fail-closed release checklist. Players can create characters from six peoples and starting worlds, then enter a growing universe with shops, wallets, equipment, jobs, staged assignments, reputation, housing, weather, planetary time, NPC life, combat, communication, ships, and salvage.

What we are testing next

Dante and Auralae will each create ordinary alpha characters and walk through the same account, policy, character-creation, arrival, reconnect, and starter-equipment path that future testers will use. The wider campaign will cover all six origins, deletion and recreation, screen-reader use, economy, jobs, combat, death and cloning, communication, needs, housing, ships, reconnects, and small-group concurrency.

How the first wave will work

After those journeys pass, we plan to invite a very small group of trusted adult testers. Access will remain private. The server address, port, connection file, and credentials will not be posted publicly. Interested readers can use the Community Hub to request consideration and explain any accessibility or communication needs without sharing passwords or medical details.

What we want to hear

Comments are open below. Tell us which part of a living science-fiction world you most want to test, what usually makes text games difficult to learn, and which accessibility features matter most to you. Comments are public, may be removed if they expose private information or violate the community boundary, and the email address entered with a comment is visible only to the site administrators.

As the worlds turn, so do the stars continue to burn.
